But it was relatively small amount of beer for Hawke, who is famed for his beer-drinking exploits.

While he was studying at Oxford University, he set a beer-drinking world record by downing a yard of ale (that's 2 1/2 imperial pints or 1.4 litres) in just 11 seconds.

Hawke slamming down a beer has become something of a regular tradition now, ever since he "did one for the country" back in 2012, and again in 2014.

What a legend.
